The Borders store in Singapore has been opened since 1 November 1997. Located at the Wheelock Place at 501 Orchard Road, the 32,000-square-foot store is the first international Borders store. It was the first mega-bookstore to hit Singapore. The store also housed its very own restaurant and cafe, and a music department.
Strengths
Borders brings Digital Listening, a revolutionary CD preview technology, to the music section. Borders customers are able to preview nearly every CD in the store by simply scanning the CD bar code. The children's section has been completely renovated and relocated, making it a bigger, brighter section of the store for children to enjoy. Borders will continue to entertain families with events and delight them with free offers on selected books in its 3 for 2 promotions.
Almost 1,000 square feet of the store holds a Paperchase department, offering a wide range of stationery, greetings cards, wrapping papers and gift items.
